about

Woman in the Moon (Frau Im Mond in original language) is a 1929 science movie by Fritz Lang, former director of Metropolis (1927). The story, based on the novel written by Lang's wife, Thea Von Harbou, tells of a pioneering expedition to the Moon in search of precious minerals, led by the scholar Wolf Helius together with his trusted friend Windegger and the latter's wife, Friede.
Space travel themes were very innovative at the time, for instance using the countdown to departure for the first time resulting in a remarkable hype among media.
This original soundtrack focuses on the departure moment, from the launch pad to the dangerous struggle against Earth's gravitational field. It was composed and live performed by Babel Fish at Nuovo Cinema Teatro Italia (Modena, Italy) for Cortivivi Festival in December 2018.
